We cut each fake ear gauge and insert a stainless steel pin so it fits a normal-sized ear hole. We handcraft the split hook from water buffalo horn, creating a “look like” gauge without expanding the ear.

Carving is the act of using tools to shape an ear stretcher from horn by scraping away portions of that material. Our technique can be applied to any material that is solid enough (we normally use bone, horn or wood).

Carving tends to require much more work than methods using malleable materials.

The Idea of a fake ear gauge is that you can show off with a gauge. You will not really need to stretch your ears for that… just join one part in the front and one part in the back.
