We cut each fake ear gauge and insert a stainless steel pin so it fits a normal-sized ear hole. Our artisans handcraft the split hook from wood and water buffalo bone, creating a “look like” gauge without expanding the ear.

Carving is the act of using tools to shape an ear stretcher from a horn by scraping away portions of that material. Our technique can be applied to any material that is solid enough (we normally use bone, horn, or wood). Carving tends to require much more work than methods using malleable materials.
